dan has been painting as long as i can remember. he's done pretty well painting large murals for some nice restaurants, the paintings you'll see here, and his paintings and drawings of animals. 

 

i've known dan for quite a while.  we were in a detroit band together years ago, signed a bad contract, made a couple cd's and are now a little wiser (yeah, and older)... 

anyway, i showed him a few paintings and it woke us both up.  before long we had a web site and sold a few paintings.  it felt like the early creative days of the band again.

 

dan has been working in wood for the few years, this is unbelievable work!  we've posted some of this work here.

my name is jim.  i started painting not too long ago.  i use to draw when i was younger and really liked it...  thought i lost it but now it's almost all i think about.

the over used adage to slow and smell the roses use to make me think to just take your time. 

it's the blind regaining sight.  it's a frantic call to tell her to go outside and look at the western sky.  you wait the silence until she gets there, and you both slowed to taste, smell and see. 

with a little luck...  you transfer that feeling on canvas.

van gogh once thought it would be a great idea to have a community of artists in one area, working together and feeding off each other's creativity.
then he wrote...

"we take a train to go to tarascon or rouen and we take death to reach a star."  

he shot himself shortly afterward, what passion and balls.

if he could see how small the world has become and that artistic communities are scaled globally, i think he'd be pleased.
